Urgent - Hambleden Village Sewage Problems

Published: 18 February 2020

We have been made aware that raw sewage is now seeping out a manhole cover in one of the fields between Hambleden and Mill End. This will have an impact on the village drainage system very quickly. We have been in contact with Thames Water and they plan to investigate the problem as soon as possible. However they are currently inundated with problems throughout the area.
Could we ask that you minimise the use of water, to relieve some of the pressure on the drainage system until further notice. Some of the properties are much more vulnerable than others, it would be really helpful if everyone could co-operate until Thames Water can resolve the issue. We do not have email addresses for some of the residents, if you could spread the word this would be helpful. You can contact TW directly on 0800 316 9800 which may help to prioritise their response.
May we also take this opportunity to remind you to dispose of any wet wipes, nappies etc. bagged up into bins for obvious reasons.
